I have started mocking up the installation of my Tbird IRS into my 56 frame. I will be welding the IRS cage into the frame instead of using the soft mounts. At this point I do not know if I will be using springs or air bags. I will probably start with springs and convert to air bags when my ship comes in. That being the case, I would like to fabricate the spring perches with the mounting holes for the air bags. Does anyone have templates for these holes or know where I can get them? Also, what size bags is everyone running? Also, what has everyone been setting their pinion angle at?
Thanks
Scott

OK, I have looked at all of the pics and have a question. My truck is on the road with a 8.8 rear-end and a 23 gallon BroncoII gas tank under the rear. I have concerns about tank placement with the IRS since there is only 3'' of clearance from my diff. cover to the tank. Has anyone used the IRS with a rear mounted tank and if so, what tank did you use?

Check the picture by Mytbtruck on 12-05-2008 at 6:54. It is a cleaner install IRS picture. Relocates the forward IRS mount. Better looking install. Go back through the pages until you arrive at that date. Don't know if search works on this. It is worth looking at. chuck

I installed a Jeep Comanche tank, I'm not sure of the year because I'm not at home to check my notes as to what year. This is the best and probably only factory tank that works. It is 18 gals and the rear frame rails have to be trimed by about 1/2" to fit. I also took the tanks straps when I pulled the tank.
