I see nothing wrong with adding a gasoline engine to their medium duty engine lineup. Especially with the current fuel prices the way they are.

 

I agree. I don't see why I couldn't get a gas engine. I do prefer them over diesel myself.

 

A gas engine makes a lot of sense for some medium duty truck users. If they do not put that many miles on the truck per year, a diesel may never pay for itself. The added cost of the new emission controls on diesels and the ULSD fuel is pretty substantial. And, that old Chevy Big Block always was a pretty good big truck engine.

 

I agree with the above, but it would be hard to do if you towed much at all.

 

Almost no towing is done with that class of truck. They are talking primarily about urban and suburban delivery trucks.

GM is probably pushing gas powered medium duties because they looked around and found they were the only ones still building them.

 

Or maybe they had a bunch of spare big blocks and they wanted to get them out the door before the emissions laws make it so they cant sell them at all?
