An "08" has been sighted in Albuquerque NM

I had my truck in for an oil change with the dealership today and a gentleman pulls on the lot driving a “08”, 6.4, DRW, 4x4, crew. This truck was just gorges!!! It seems that one of the dealerships here in Albuquerque was selected to choose a customer to Pre-Flight a truck for one year before the scheduled product release date. I spoke with the driver at length and he has nothing but positive feedback for this motor. For his efforts Ford provides free fuel, tires, etc, and all maintenance coast to coast for one year. (He has had the truck for 6 months) He delivers boats from coast to coast and into Mexico, currently he has 91k on the unit with no issues. He told me that next month he is hired to pickup a 22k-lb boat in Florida and deliver it to the Oregon coast; this will be the largest capacity pull for the rig to date. He did have one complaint thus far…. It seems Ford had a camera crew following his every move for three months. He laughed and said he knows what the president must feel like; he had 3 excursions following his every move all around the country… A small price to pay in my mind. Jeff in NM…OUT

If that is the only complaint that he had, and has ran the truck for 91k miles...that sounds really good. That is a very promising thing to read.

Regardless of what model it was and a camera cre following him around, I'd LOVE to be that guy!

Since he runs cost to cost and into Mexico, Ford installed an 110gal bed tank for added range. I asked him if he will get to keep the truck when the testing is completed. He said, Ford will sell it to him at a greatly reduced price, but they did not commit to a $$ figure. He estimates the engine will have ~160k when he completes the evaluation; I did forget to ask him what his empty and loaded fuel mileage was, I was just to jazzed when he pulled onto the lot… Jeff in NM…OUT

That does sounds awesome maybe this will cure all the people of the 6.4 being such a troublesome motor and then they will think twice about buying one i dont blame those people though for being skeptical i would you just never know with a first year model

I have to admit, if the rest of the engines run this way, then I think Ford is definitely taking a step in the right direction.
