Man, Portland gets a inch or so of snow, and like, the town almost shuts down. its funny, that some places can just simply exist with like 10 inches, while other places almost shut down.
so how is it in your area?

Clear, cold and icy. We had just enough snow to turn the roads icy.

4-5 inches here last night. Not a problem here as I lived in Klamath Falls for three years and during that time the average snow fall was 3-6 feet and it lasted forever
The problem is too many Californians moved up here.

thats probably it. i mean, all portland public schools closed, and they said that cause it started to barely snow. then, by the time i'd have been at my school, and gotten out, the roads were DRY.
i mean i can understand why, the portland public school district has 85 schools, and goes all the way out to pretty much gresham from the west hills and such, and some places get more snow/ice than i do where i live, but seriously folks.

We got about 6 inches at my house, south of Gresham. Watching the news coverage yesterday you would have thought we were in Denver. It was kind of fun watching the pinball car on channel 8 but got boring after the 30th or 40th time seeing it.
well i live off 92nd ave in portland and it is not that bad at all ..only 3" of snow and everyone panics! and some people need to know four wheel drive means just that!! does not mean four wheel STOP!!!! freakin morons those people need to just NOT DRIVE!!
uh huh... yeah. According to your reasoning, each of the crashes, screw-'ups and abandoned cars belonged to a california native.
Wrong.
Face it, folks in the valley are used to rain- but when it comes to snow and ice, they loose it.
I really like the people who put chains on the FRONT of their 4x cars / trucks for the big inch of snow.
It was a joke....

I had one person, new to the area, that 4 wheel drive is better because all 4 wheels stop when you push on the brake.?????? I think I'm still confused with that one.
