They might be waiting on tech training. You cant sell them until you have someone to work on them. I go for training next week.

Looked to me that someone around here in Novi has a reg. cab truck for the fleet already. Seen it driving by with an auxillary tank in the bed, and a big green sticker over the fuel door, I guess to remind people to fill up with ULSD only. Seen 4 or 5 runnin around here lately, but non on the dealer lots.

My 2008 6.4 Lariat extended cab Super Duty was ordered on December 7th. On December 14th, the truck was assigned a vin code, a build date of 15 January and the order status was raised to #4. On Thursday, 11th January, the order status was raised to #8, indicating the truck is built, passed inspection, and ready to ship. The ETA date at dealership was listed as 5 February. In view of the shipment freeze at the plant, I may have been lucky to get shipped before the freeze. I will check with the dealership tomorrow to revisit the order code information and conformation on the arrival date.

Another interesting note is that I have the US dollar MSRP and the dealer invoice prices but Ford, as of yet, has not released the Canadian prices in any form for the 2008 SD. I have no idea how much my truck will be in canuck dollars.

More than likely a manufacturers vehicle. I have seen a couple of test vehicles with aux tanks in the bed and M plates. Probably just some engineer driving it. Especially in the Novi, Detroit Metro area. In the Dearborn you can spot one driving around just about any where you look.

But, even if a vehicle makes it to a dealers lot, Ford still has not given the OK to actually sell one yet.

That unit would be just a show/test drive unit correct?

PilotShot-Your best bet would be just to ask them and see what they say about the shipping...honestly, everything is kinda sketchy at the moment.

That would be generally correct. We are far enough along now that pre-production units are being used for testing, but production units are at auto shows and being used for marketing and commercials currently in the making.

It could have been a test truck, I couldn't look back to see an M plate, but I didn't see the usual yellow test badge on the windshield either, so who knows.....

If you look at the bottom of the ad somebody has asked a question now as to when they will be getting the truck at the dealership. They said they only have 2 comming and it will be around march but he will know for sure this week. Mabey they have pushed them back alittle more.

Good news here!

Spoke to my Dealer this afternoon and he provided me my assigned BUILD date and expected delivery!! Also a FULL VIN number! My truck is to be built the week of Feb 12th, which takes 3 days. Meaning the truck will be completed either that Wednesday, ,Thursday or Friday! They also state a 2 week delivery. I should expect to take delivery the end of February first few days of March.

It would appear the release of this truck is on it's way..........
