I have a auto cc fx4 6.0 with exhaust and my friend has 03 5.9 with 5 in exhaust, edge 50-70 hp chip and is 6 spd. His has a leveling kit with 35's and is also a 4 door. Can i take him 1/8 or 1/4 mile, and what about a tug of war.
how much different will the outcome be when i come back in 5 months with my sct xcal?
I thought i would, everytime this guy talks its a bash on fords, furds,powerjokes..he doesnt believe that my truck is built better than his, his truck will be on the road much longer than mine
Your friends big disadvantage is the manual(presuming that his is also a 4x4). The New Venture's were never intented to be quick shifters.
Keep in mind that it both of you get into really adding power he's got the advantage in aftermarket parts availability and price of those parts. It's realistic that he could spend less than 5k for parts and have a reliable and streetable 500-600hp with over 1000#'s of torque.
Stock to stock you've got the advantage (without considering the tranny's) because your V8 will rev quicker that his I6.

You will win this one, but I would be rather humble about it, because if he makes that goat kick, there is nothing you can do but watch unless you have really really deap pockets.
Even if the dodge guy adds a fueling box, turbo, etc.... with the manual tranny he's going to have a HUGE disadvantage while drag racing. The 6oh with a good tune and auto tranny (~425rwhp) is going to win over a 500-550 hp manual trans truck unless the dude is incredibly good at shifting/ launching his 6 spd. But then if you take those same trucks sled pulling, the dodge w/ manual is going to freakin slaughter the ford.
id even say ud take em in a pull off too ive seen a 6.0 take a 05 3500 dually w/ a 6sp in the tug a truck and i know the guy w/ the 3500 cummins. all u have to worrie bout is u have to spool up cause of the 6.0 being a rev'er. but they pull them around all day unless u blow a hub or axel. its great to see these 5.9s w/ a ton of money in them get pulled back by a stock 6.0.
