Yeah, I have F-350 rear leaf springs with overloads, I pull so much that it's worth the rough ride. The truck also has a sterling 10.25 rear end like the superdutys.
We haven't weighed it loaded yet but we figure the trailer loaded weighs about 19,000. The plate on the trailer says 12,000 but that was before the living quarters was finished. 5 horses , feed, tack, water tanks filled,,, etc and it adds up in a hurry. Tongue weight isn't so bad. The horses are mainly over the axles. The space forward of the ramp is living quarters
Here is a interesting one I did today. 1980, 11K spent the better part of an hour re-wireing it so I could move it from near baltimore md to past berkley springs wv.
Then once I was there the lady has a narrow twisted road with no turn around so i had to back down it, of course it was muddy as well.
Can't tell much from the pic. What'd it do, roll over and die?
Nahh, we needed to do some welding on the underside of the trailer, It wasnt connected to the truck or anything, we just used the trackhoe to pick it up and lay it on its side.
Here's my current rig. The trailer is 22' from tongue to bumper with 18' of open deck. This picture was taken on our way to go get dirty with some friends. My tow vehicle (wife's DD) is a 2001 Excursion Limited with the V-10. Only way I knew the trailer was there was when I looked in the mirror.
I wouldn't say they're heavy...but at about 9k pounds (didn't scale it) and 9 ft wide by 12 ft tall by 30 some-odd feet long...it was interesting taking it across town to a warehouse to get it out of the weather.
