I would really like to have a F1 panel to go with my '55. I have a '54 pickup daily driver for sale that I wouldn't mind trading for a F1 panel.

Hi there, it's great to get so many replies and that there are so many panels amongst us. To help answer elekrafried question about running boards www.midfifty.com sells fiberglass and steel, FB are ribbed ,steel are smooth. www. fairlanecompanymi.com also sells fiberglass. After I had made a rear roll pan with a licence plate cut out I discovered that Midfifty also sells a polished rear bumper, just my luck.

Two here. One is an all original and running 51 (owned by my father-in-law) and I have an all original, but non-running, 52.

There were approximately 16,000 standard Panels made in 51 and only about 6,000 Deluxe Panels. In 52, there were approximately 6,500 standard Panels and only 1,500 or so Deluxe Panels.

I've also had two 49 Panels come through me that I've parted or re-sold.

I have a 1950 F1 Panel. It was originally used as an ambulance in the 50's, then a paddywagon in the 60's. Still black and white with the audible siren, but no gumball light. Need to change head gaskets and rewire, then it will be the daily driver.

Any of the panel owners find a source for the rubber bumpers that go in the rear door brackets?

No, I'm looking for the ones that go in the "hold opens" for lack of a correct term for the two arm assemblies at the top of the doors that allow them to be held at 90 or full open.
There is a rubber bumper that fits in holder on one arm on each side that contacts the door frame when the doors are open.

Hello Ax, I have the assemblies with the rubber pieces you are talking about and they are in good shape, however the rubbers are very hard and I'm not sure if this is how they started out as new or if it really matters. I don't really have a need for them and you'd be welcome to them.

I expect they were hard to begin with. Mine are missing so they ding the paint on the door frame when the doors are opened. PM sent.

If they are still in good condition, an RTV mold cold be made and copies reproduced in rubber. The same is done in the model car industry with tires.

I know some people who can do this. It would be a great addition to our hobby as most of these rubber stoppers aren't available.

Another panel here. I bought my 53 from my brother in 1973 for a case of beer!
