63 unibody input on tranny

have 63 unibody, starting from the ground up. i have 1978 351w
need some input on what kind of 5 speed transmisson to use?

Stock 351W? If so a t-5 from any mid 80's to early 90's mustang will bolt up with little to no problems on the 351W. The problems start when you try to install the T-5 or the hydrualic clutch master cylinder. The crossmember under the firewall will force you to mount it really high or cut it out altogether. You can find the diamentions and how to convert to manual linkage at this link. Granted it is for a mustang but you will get the idea.

Thanks very much thats a start. Looks like a long & costly
project. May need more info in years to come.
