Thousands for a particulate filter?
"One supplier with knowledge of the costs says a manufacturer is likely to spend $600 to $800 to equip a full-sized truck with a diesel particulate filter."
I placed this in the 6.4 Tech Folder some time ago.

The sequential turbo design and new injector strategy though, may certainly have a pricing impact. We will just have to wait and see if Ford extends their promise of lower MSRP to the '08 / 6.4.
I think they will be eager to get these puppies on the street. They also have to be careful not to price distance the casual diesel buyer...these folks and their $$$$ is what has driven the upswing in light duty diesel truck sales for the past few years.

kw5413: Thank you for the correction I knew I read that somewhere. The only thing one knows for sure is that they will be more than the 6.0 or they would never sell the 6.0's on the lots. And with the added costs of just the upgrades (nav and DVD etc) they will end up being thousands more.

My assertion of being competively priced was only for the diesel engine option.

From What i was told From my New Car Manager. The 6.4L is a $8,000 Option and us here in New England wont see one till Long after march. Ford is Shipping all the new trucks to the west to go up against the Companies. This is also why they showed the new SD at the Texas State Fair, and in the other posts, are training Dealer staff in Dallas. At The Moment that is all i know but I can't wait till us here get our first 6.4L. I'll do my best and post if i shoudl get an more info from with-in the company.

This was found on another site posted by a dealer whom I put great stock in providing accurate info.
6.4L PSD: $6,895/$5,516 (MSRP/Invoice)
He also mentioned that the price gap between the MSRP and Invoice has closed somewhat
Lariat C/C 4x4 Base MSRP "Lowered" $235.00
Lariat C/C 4x4 Dealer Invoice "Increased" $941.00
