ranger frame for 1951 ford truck
i found a ranger swb, 4-cyl. to get the frame from.I plane on adding a piece to get the right wheelbase and i will be using a 351w in the 1951 truck. anything other than changing motor mounts and adding frame for the radiator have to be done? I know the frame is 1/2" narrower and i will use plates so my body will bolt back up. is there any bake issues?
thanks for any help!!!

What is the wheel base for the ranger compared to the ranger. What I was told about cutting frames is that unless it is absolutely neccessary dont' cut it. If it is not too much you could shorten your bed a few inches and it would probably be easier to do. There was an article in custom classic trucks a while back that had a 55 that the bed was shorten it looked great!

If you are going to lengthen or shorten the frame make the cuts on each side at an angle and in opposite directions. Better still do a V cut if there is going to be a lot of stress. Crawl under a stretch limo and get an idea how they do it along with the reinforcement.
