Smile Fresh tranny and new clutch--so nice!!!

Hi guys,

I just got my truck back from the shop today with a fresh manual tranny and a new Luk clutch. i love the feel of the clutch. My tranny wasnt completely gone, but before it got to expensive I had it rebuilt. I put alot of strain on this drivetrain in its younger years, it feels like brand new now. Thanks for all the input about the Luk clutch. I think I'll go out and drive it somemore tonight!!

does it just pop right into gear on a downshift? My downshifts are terrible from 3-2 and 2-1. I only get 1st when Im stopped. to get 2nd I need to be going under 20mph, or rev the engine up to match wheel speed.
How much did the rebuild cost?

Pud have you replaced that stupid little linkage bushing? Your having the same problem I had. Dealership charged me 7.00 for it, after I replaced it the truck shifted like new.

oh man I already did that effin bushing. Ford wanted $18.00 for it, autoparts store charged me $8. I never did anything to secure the rod on the pin tho and the bushing wore out in a week. So I got another one, pulled the pedal off and cut some threads on the pin that the bushing slides over and capped it off with a nut on the end. Shifts alot nicer now, but theres almost 2" of play in my DMF which is my biggest problem.

The kit was around 500.00 bucks for everything. I dont know if that is what everyone pays for them or what my buddy charged me.

The work was done by Advanced Transmission and Gear in Portland on E. Burnside. Cool guys and fast turn around.
