1953 body parts catalog?
I have started my search for a body parts catalog for my 1953 F-100. I ran across a couple on eBay. One is for Ford passenger cars, trucks and Thunderbirds 1953-1956. The other one is for Ford passenger cars and trucks 1953-1954. Does anyone know how these two catalogs differ? Are there other reference books besides the shop manual and body parts catalog?
Thanks!

1953 body parts catalog?
The one I rely upon is the 1948-56 Ford Truck Parts Catalog. It covers all aspects, sheet metal, mechanical, you name it. Covers trucks, panel vans and busses up thru F6/F600.
Very interesting to see what parts are interchangable between F1 and F100 series also.
Mines an original I found in an old body shop but repros are available.

I have a 2 volume set of Ford catalogs titled 1948-1956 Ford Truck Parts and Accessories dated 1964. It covers 1948-1956 Chassis and 1953-1956 Body. It was printed for Ford Motor Company, Dearborn Michigan. One volume is the Text Catalog Form FD 9464 and the other is the Illustraions Catalog Form FD 9465. I was lucky and found an original set for sale on eBay for $50.00. I have also seen the same set at Obsolete Ford in their book display in a reprint. In the front are instructions for using the catalogs together. They are paper back bound with holes for a 3 ring binder. This is where most of the illustrations come from that are used in catalogs from vendors.
