wow, this thread got saved from the pits.

I haven't had to clean the filter in my truck yet. It is slightly dirty, but not enough to warrant re-oiling just yet.

if you've got a 4x4, avoid the ram air scoop. that's just asking for water to get into the engine while offroad.

otherwise, the Volant and K&N come down to personal preference. The Volant adds some "bling" under the hood and it works pretty darn good. I'm sure the K&N does the job as well, but I don't have any experience with them on a FI car. Give me a carb, and I'll put a K&N on it every single time.

I had a K&N that would either not have enough oil, or too much. Never tripped the CEL though. Nice Avatar, they're my favorite band.
