These last two posts look interesting. I, for one would like to see a couple more pics of that 'champ' car. What is it? Looks like ford axles? Inline six? Overhead or flatty. Is this a class of homemade racers? I can only imagine what that thing, or a swarm of them sounds like. Awesome.

1935 Model 51 1-1/2 ton Farm Truck

Hi to all,
I am very new to all this. I went beserk a few weeks ago, and bought a 1935 Ford 1 1/2 ton truck. I am told it's a Model 51.
At 60 years old, this is my first try at a restoration. I want to keep it pretty original, and it shouldn't be too hard.. the truck is in pretty good shape.
I plan to do a frame-up restoration.
Anybody wanna help???

I have just posted some pictures. I intend to get the clutch in so I can move it to a storage area for most of the winter. I have several projects going, hence the insanity..

Pictures of `before' Truck

she loves our new truck

I have them in my profile, but I'll post them here too. I will be doing a Start-to-finish thread on the Ford Barn site, since they are more about old trucks.

That looks like a great cabover. We KNOW you can do pictures, so now let's see about 5 more. We love the 'before' pics. There are those of us who's before and after pictures are quite similar

Problem there is, my 'after' pics aren't going to look quite so different, as I am not restoring it cosmetically, at least not in the foreseeable future. Most of the recent work has all been underneath: fuel system, brake system, axle, wiring, seats, floor boards, etc. Things of that nature.

Bobbed the rails, added rear crossmember, added tails & 3rd stop light:

Fab'bed dual exhaust, since welded & installed:

Floor, since stained & installed:

Thanks for the pics. Nice work! That's ok, my trucks go the same way. Here's a few that are done to show that you are in good company. Actually the '29 needs a new radiator, but all the rest run perfectly and are ready to work. New brakes etc. etc.

That is a nice line-up!
I had a '46 for a short while, a straight flip.
I need to finish my carb rebuild, re-wire it, get new tubes and button all the new brake stuff up, and I should be ready to roll. I believe my truck hasn't been legal since sometime between '64 and the early 70s.

Very nice fleet, GB; one from each decade! Good to see some straight ole survivors. (Do you have any build threads going on your Cummins conversions?)

My 6at cumins in the '59 f350 had a build thread in the 57-60 section called 'kinda like a hot rod, but it isn't hot'. Also I have a youtube video called '59 f350 with cummins 6at', and one called 37 ford 1.5 ton with load of logs'. The build thread on the '47 2 ton is on this group and called 'she'll be comin' round the mountain'. The 6at started as a generator engine for cummins but in the 80's cummins made an automotive version for delivery trucks, mostly UPS. 220 cu in and 120 hp. Same size and bellhousing as a chevy six.
