Injector driver module testing

Does anyone know how or have a link to a previous thread of how to test the IDM.
The ohms test of the harness and injectors.
And how to check voltage out of the IDM.

Thanks
John

I dont have an analyzer to do the buzz test.
I read a couple posts that mentioned an ohm test.
But they didnt have any specifics or a pinout.
In another post it was raised about the harness maybe failing.
This could be a possibility since I might have fried my 3rd IDM in 3 years

Do you have any IDM or injector codes?

Im in Ohio
I dont know anyone I could swap out with.
I might also be a little worried about doing that since the harness could maybe be suspect.

Has no power with the pedal all the way to the floor I can get it up to about 20mph in my drive about 1/8 mile.
Kinda shakes some.
Allready changed the fuel pump and filter.
Ive had 2 go out on me before and it feels the same way.

No one I know has a Ford truck.
I work for GM Im a traitor.
This truck is the only thing sold with the horsepower I need to tow my racecar trailor.
And doesnt have the GM popcorn popping diesels.

Im gonna try a voltmeter on the harness and the injectors tommorow see what kinda juice Im getting.
Plus pull the plugs and see if it changes how it runs.
And pull the IDM see if it smells crispy.

Im also thinking along the lines of if its bad,( I also have at least 1 bad injector) changing out both to Beans upgraded IDM and the tranny saver injectors.

Well I did some testing today but Im not exactly sure what I proved.
I started the van up and it was still running crappy.
So i I pulled the harness connecter for the #6 and #8 injector.
Trucks not running any different.

This tells me something is going on in the #6 or #8 injector.
The injector itself, the UVC wiring, the harness or the IDM.
But what?

I then pulled the #5 and #7 connecctor.
The truck dies.
Hmmm? It was allready running on 6 and 4 aint gonna do it?

I then tried to read voltage at the harness.
I got 4 volts dc from the #5/#7 connector
I got 4 and 8 volts dc from the #6/#8 connector.

I was expecting to see 115Vdc maybe my meter is too slow to catch the cycling Im not sure?

I then pulled the IDM took the harness off it doesnt seem to be any water in it and it doesnt smell crispy.
It was just laying in the wheelwell it wasnt secured at all.
Isnt it supposed to be bolted down?
Also not sure why everyone says you have to go through wheelwell to get it out.
It not gonna come out that way the body just about completly wraps it.
Wiring harness also looked ok.

So any ideas?
IDM sounds ok?
My problem is injector or UVC harness?
What about that low voltage reading?

Did a little more testing today.
Used an oscilliscope.

It appears Im running on 4 cyliders, the right bank only.
I got right around 3ohms resistance on all 4 injectors on the right side
And measured 144Vdc on the right side.
These seem ok.

I measured 3ohms on 2 and 4 injector on left side.
Way over 3 on 6 and 8 injector.
Got Voltages of 4Vdc 8 Vdc and 44Vdc on left side.

I pulled both left bank plugs off and the motor kept running sounded the same.

Does it sound like I have 2 bad injectors and a bad IDM?
