Post Buyer Advice?

I am interested in buying my first truck that is older than I am, and would like some advice on what this thing could really be worth.

It is a 51' Ford F-6 with flatty V-8, Five-Star-Extra package, 12'hyd dump-bed, NO RUST OR DENTS but poof-can paint, three speed trans. w/ vac assist two speed rear-end. runs and drive (although I have not driven it).
They are asking $5000. (It is in the Western Washington state area)
What is realistic for a rig like this one ?

thanks
Greg

Hi Greg,

It's a bit tough to estimate, isn't it? You just don't see too many of the big guys around and certainly not too many in the good condition you describe. Only advice I can offer is to look at the user galleries here on FTE and see if you can get info directly from other folks who have F-3s or bigger. Just for yucks, you can take a look at the following value guide for F-100s:

http://www.classictruckshop.com/ford_trucks_value.asp

Sorry I couldn't help more. :-)

Thanks, "Earl"
I enjoyed your F250 resto-pages thoroughly, waiting for updates.
Did I mention the ODO on this F-6 reads a (believable) 38,000 origional miles? Very little wear on pedals steering wheel, armrests, etc..
