Just stick with R12 or R134a... Problem is most A/C shops these days test the freon before evacuating, as they don't want to contaminate their entire batch.
If you've got weird stuff in there.. they won't touch it.. so if you ever need professional A/C service in the future, forget it.
There are also some legality issues in some states and the EPA.
