4.2 v6 swap to 4.9, 302
If any one has done this or has imput on any requirements for this engine swap. Truck has a 5 speed tranny and are wondering if engine will fit to transmission and if engine mounts will work or need modification. 302 is a 1985 throttle body roller rocker engine. Plan on installing a edlebrock duel plane intake w/ edlebrock 600 carborator. Elimination of computor for engine. (previous engine hydrolocked* 4.2L v6*) this is the cheapest way to switch engines for us if it will work....

Hi and welcome to the forum
If you do a search in here you'll probably find some more info.
The engine will physically bolt to the transmission.
I doubt the engine mounts will line up without some work.
You'll need all the accessory brackets for the alternator, PS etc.
The exhaust will have to be built.
You'll probably run into quite a bit of fun with the wiring and electronics.
In the end you'll probably find it lots cheaper and easier to get a used 4.2 and install that, maybe after replacing all the problem gaskets.
