Engine warning light on 1998 f150 XL v-6 will not go off. Can find no problems with engine. Does anyone know how to disconnect or disable this light. Need help from someone. Thanks

Get the codes read.....

Post 'em here for diagnosis or just SEARCH for them.

Welcome to the forum Gilbo

I assume you're talking about the yellow check engine light and not the red engine light?
If it's the yellow one do like Steve said. If you have an Autozone close by they will scan it for codes for free. Just don't let them sell you any parts without doing a bit more diagnosis and maybe checking here.

Could just be a misfire in the engine, that happened to me. Everything ran normal but one time something set a senor off and I just hooked it up and read the error code.

It could be any one of dozens of components that could set any one (or more) of hundreds of possible codes.

Without the actual codes, it is quite pointless to speculate or to report what happened to your vehicle.

Once the code(s) is available, then we can work toward a resolution.
