2001 power window

Today my 2001 F150 SC passenger window stayed down, no warning. This truck has 35,000 miles and is kept inside. Is this a freak happening or is this common?

Hi and welcome to FTE

It's not all that common but I've seen it a few times. Usually the problem is the power window motor. You can remove the door trim panel (instructions in the Frequently Asked Questions at the top of the forum) and check for power at the motor when you press the switch. If there's power there then the motor is bad. You can try tapping the motor gently with a small hammer or wrench and see if that "unsticks" it.

Will the passenger side switch operate the window? On hot days(95+), my driver's side switch "hesitates" sometimes but the passenger side switch always works well.
