Question pros&cons

I am looking to buy 97-03 150 4x4 probably extend cab,what shouild I look for with these years I want auto trans

Got to have the 5.4 like Blue Wolf states, if you're looking for a six, stay away from the 97/98 years, and don't plan on towing much. I have the 4.2, and it will run, but my foot is steady in it's $%#@. The 4.6 is OK, but the 5.4 is the only way to go, the MPG isn't all that different. XLT,Heritage, and run it with an auto.Great Trucks!

99-03 have more power and a few other updates. I agree with the 5.4L. and at least 3.55 gears if not 3.73's.

Yup...get the latest model you can with the 5.4, and try to get the 3.73's too.

if you plan to haul people more than cargo i would get the supercrew, if they had a true flareside i would have gotten one!

3.73LS is better if you plan on getting larger tires.
Stay true to what you like best...YOU have to drive it!

im on my 2nd 97 ford and both of em have torn up seats ....only problem i have found...that 5.4 is a beauty
