Hi fellow unibodies. I have a 62 that I have spent the last two years doing a complete restoration on. I completely gutted and sandblasted the entire truck and started from there with all new steel etc. I pulled the 292 which ran great (54,000 original mile) and put in a real clean 352 with a C6 attached. I do have lots of extra parts including the 292, the 3 speed tranny, original wheels and hubcaps which were unique to the 62. If anyone is interested in discussing 62's let me know. Or,if anyone needs parts, I know where to find them. I searched for 3 years. Jeff.

Hello all fellow uni owners, I recently got a 1961 F-250 long uni.I have several other 60s Ford trucks ,63 lng stepside,65 F-350, and my current project, 63 customcab F-250 that I am putting on a 66 F-250 4x4 frame.I found the uni in a salvage yard last winter and another uni owner contacted me about the engine,a 223 6.We split the cost of the truck, he got the engine, I got the rest.It had not been started for 18 years but I got it going after a short time.there was a camper on the bed,so the floor is in great shape but(of course) no gate.the cab floor and steps have rust holes, as well as the inner fenders and a little on the door bottoms.the windshield is smashed in and the hood is trashed but I have these parts already.the inside of the cab is nice (custom cab, all the stuff is there).I was not sure what I was going to do with the body but after cleaning all the grime and moss off it, I decided it was good enough to fix.I love my uni, cant wait to get starrted on it.I am in Alaska and there are a few unis here driving around.I run a business dealing with recycled 61-66 Ford truck parts and continue to salvage what others say is junk.My 61 uni's VIN serial starts F25JR114xxx so it must be one of the first ones.Sorry about the long post but I had not found this much uni stuff in one place and had to share.talkeetna_ford(No Email Addresses In Posts!) I have a 1961 short bed F100 with the large wrap around window. runs good, needs new paint and some rust hole fixed. The truck is about bare as you could have ordered it. It has a 292 and automatic. It is perpetually for sale while I am fixing it up if anyone is interested.

1963 F100 Longbed Unibody with regular window.
I just finished taking out the old 223 inline-6.
I'll be puttin in (hopefully) a 390 from a T-Bird soon...
I have to get this truck running by the end of August and could use some good help and advice.
Here's my email address if anybody is interested:

I have 62 Unibody with the original 223 six (in the process of an engine rebuild). This was a no frills truck when new....and I suppose it still is. It was a one owner truck before me. Three on the tree and loving it...why change?
I am perpetually looking for an oil bath breather.....anyone anyone?
Did the 62 223 come with the overdrive transmission as an option? Thinking about addingone to get better mileage. Has anyone done this and is the gas mileage gain worth it?
