I did mine today also. I am a little disappointed with the way it works though. It does shut the water off in "vent, A/C and Max A/C but it also shuts the water off in Bi-Level, the first option to the right of off. Thats the one I use mostly for heating the cab up in the morning.
I think I am going to do away with using the red hose and install a switch on the dashboard to control the vacuum to the water control valve so I can turn it on or off at will.

I also purchased one a while back and it was just an all black plastic valve. I don't remember where I got it from but I am not gettting that ice cold feeling. Maybe I hooked it up to the wrong vacume line???? I need to take another look at it I guess. Maybe even try the manual shut off and see if it makes a difference. Does anyone have a good supplier for the manual valve and does it need the hose fittings on the ends or is it made to just slip on?

This is a great mod. I read this yesterday and was thoroughly impressed. so much so that I bought it right away. I'm I beautiflul sunny Southern Ca Yeah,( BS).... Well the weather's nice. It doesn't get to hot here just a couple of weeks in July it hits 100-103 in the day but the mod is still nice to have. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. I do go home to Texas quite a bit though and it does get hot there. Whew!!! I'll let yah know how it goes after the install. Thanks you Guys for this mod..Carlos

Your $2.00 manual valve gets you what you paid for it....having to get out on a cool summer night because you want a little heat is a pain in the back (if you can even reach it on the side of the road).
I have no problem spending the additional few bucks to have it function automatically.
I am also in the process of installing an A/C compressor cut-off switch for the times I don't wan't the compressor running (like in defrost, floor/face, etc) along with a bi-color LED that will glow green when the A/C is on, and blue when the actual compressor is spinning.
