I got mine 12 years ago. I went for a week long course in Yorkton at Van-X. It was pretty easy, but they don't want you to fail. I had been driving gravel truck since before I had my drivers license even, so I was pretty experienced already. I just had to wait unti I was 18 to get my license.

I got mine 6 or 7 years ago. If you are familiar with big trucks it is pretty easy or just a little practice is all it takes, just have to remember to double clutch when taking the test they deduct points if you don't as I found out half way through the test.

I was thinking about one of those weekish long courses, wouldnt wanna take one much longer then that. I was also considering doing it without the course but that might be a tad tough.

Yah, I think the course is the fastest and easiest way to get your license, but you also pay for it. It was around $900 for me to get mine 12 years ago, and I think it's damn near double that now.

I got mine about 12 years ago as well. I had very little driving experience and so didn't make it the first time. It wasn't that it was hard, I just hadn't had enough time behind the wheel. 1 Month later, did it again and passed easily. It never hurts to have it. And I like big diesels anyway.

I was looking at getting a newer mack with alot of kilometers on it. Was for sale for 15 grand. I was just gonna buy it then haul abit with my dad then get my 1a. My dad talked me out of getting a truck with alot of miles on it though. So I guess I have to find somehow else to practise!

At a job site yesterday I saw a mint white 99 F250 PSD XLT Lariat Super Cab 4X4 that maybe be up for sale soon. Custom hood and other neat touches, lower kms. Probably abit more than I want/can pay.
