1967 Econo Master Cylinder

Hi all,

I have driven my '67 Econo since I bought him in 1991. A buddy of mine named him Sherman after the famous tank. Most call him Shermie now. He's a '67 Heavy Duty, Long Bed with a 302 V8 engine stuffed in the doghouse.

Last year I found the front brake cylinders leaking so I bought new ones and installed em. Brakes working great after that. I thought - WOW for the 1st time in 10 years Shermie can drive, steer, and stop!!!
Well my happiness didn't last long. I let him sit out this past winter and now trying to get him ready for summer I find brake fluid leaking out the boot of the master cylinder.

This master cylinder is the unobtainable dual chamber type. I need to find an old timer who can rebuild it or a replacement. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

bout the only thing you can do is get a kit and try it.

otherwise start calling around till you find someone who will sleeve it and rebuild it for you.

Any brake place should be able to rebuild it if you bring them the kit. Rock auto, MACS and Dennis Carpenter sell the kit. There is also a place in VA off route 50. Check out there site at http://www.whitepost.com/. They can rebuild and if needed resleeve it for around $150.00.
