Has got to be the dumbest thing ever. I can't stand all these pot heads running around saying 'WOO IM GOING TO GET STONED TODAY WOOO IM SMOKING THE BIGGEST BLUNT EVER YEAHH MAN WOOO WEEEEEED HEH HEH HAAA WOOOO!!!" When i'm pretty sure 99% of them don't even know what 420 is or means. And then the ones that DO know what it means think they're even cooler, or the "real" stoners. It is so annoying.

How is today any different than any other day that they go home and smoke a big *** bowl and sit on the couch eating cheetos. sooo stupid.

 

i hear ya, there was a kid in my science calss today that was GONE but he normally is so that dont count, but my auto tech teacher said he knew of atleast 7 that were toasted in his class today.

Yeah, it is hitler's birthday, but I don't htink thats why they do it. Something some kids used to meet at 4:20 after school on occasion to smoke, so apparently because its 4/20 you have to smoke a whole bunch in honor of them or something.

 

I've always heard that 4:20 was something to do with the police. Like 420 is possession or something.

 

Today is also the date of the Columbine shootings. So I think it should be a day of remembrance instead of getting stoned.

Largely unknown. Potheads on the tech-forum I used to frequent were all going on and on about it. Lots of research went into it. The term has been around since the 30's, but no one really knows WHY they used 4-20.

There was another thread about today being national high five day. That seems way cooler. We should stick with that

Just do a google search, there are a lot rumors about, but the general consensus is that a group of kids met up at a statue of some sort at 4:20 pm to smoke occasionally, and the number just became a nickname for toking up. Seems pretty dumb to me.. :shrug:

National High Five day is the 3rd Thursday of April not necessilary 4/20 this year it just happened to fall on 4/20. That is what I've celebrated all day.

As to why 420 is 420. I've heard the 4:20 pm reason but the stoners I've known couldn't wait till after school and 4:20 is almost an hour and half after most classes let out so that is proabably not it.

The reason I've heard the most is the police thing (420 being possession) but I have never had the ***** to ask a cop that while I was getting a ticket

 

i think its a cop thing as well but not in the code number sense. Ud think that potheads would get smart ut then again they dont. Everyone knows about 4/20 even the cops, seems to me that theyre the ones who made it up so they could bust more people for doing it. i know our school always cracks down the next day with random drug testing something required by the district (which I have no problem with)! Its probably not true but it would make seanse, trick the potheads into getting busted!!!

It was my seinor year when that happened. Right in my own backyard. I went to a Arapahoe High about 5mi from Columbine. I knew a few kids who were involved in it all. I'll never forget that.
