The point is to when it comes to Oil,-- SEARCH FIRST-- the specific answer is already there. The oil question and answers should be listed under the----Read it First.

i really would not worry about it. if the oil threads bug you then how about these

"best lift?"
"biggest tires"
"sunvisor"
"bedliner"
"wax"
"gas mileage?"
"misfire on cyl 4"

The problem is if we tell people just to search or if we add everything to the FAQs then we lose the interaction in the forum.
When we get new users we want them to stick around and ask and answer questions.
My suggestion is that if you see a thread title that you're really not interested in seeing again just ignore it. Works for me

You are right just ignoring it is probably the best, but it is hard to do. If we did have this attitude for all post than what is the sense of having the -- Read it First --, we could just ignore all post that are worn out, like spark plugs.

That's a good point and in the past it's been suggested that getting rid of the Read It First threads in some forums would be a good idea.
It's tough to figure out where to draw the line.
