Angry 2000 4.6 runs rough engine light off?

Hi everyone. I have a 2000 ford E150 with a 4.6. This truck has been a very realible vehicle. I have put on 100,000 miles with out even the slighest problem. Then last summer at around the 100,000 mile mark Had an engine light come on and the engine started running rough. No big deal I went to auto zone they checked the code and it was a cyclinder missfire. I replaced the coil pack and It ran great. Then a few months latter another code appeared it was and EGR insufficent flow. So I went through that "MESS" we have all heard before. I replaced the DPFE, the EGR and cleaned the TB in and out. The IAC was cheaked and was spotless. The code when away and all was good. Now i am at 112,000 and the engine is running rough with no engine codes. It has stalled 2 times now and seams to happen when I have to make a quick stop. It also surges once in a while throug out regular driving range. Any ideas would be great.

MODS: K & N Air filter and high flow dynomax muffler.

Hi and welcome to the forum

It may need plugs if they have never been replaced.
I would also clean the MAF with electrical contact cleaner and check the PCV hose elbows for cracks, they are known to get soft and crack causing a vacuum leak.

I forgot to metion that the plugs were replaced as well when I was having the EGR problem. I had the stock brand motorcraft put in. As for the PVC i dont see a valve like the plastic type i am used to seeing but i will check the hose. The MAS I will try. Thank you very much for the help.

i had a problem similar to this 1 and it turns out my fuel filter needed to be replaced, also check your battery's ground connections and cables for corrosion those could also cause stalling.

The PCV is in the passengerside valvecover. There is a rubber elbow on it and one at the other end of the tubing where it connects to the rear of the intake manifold.

It could if the injectors are really dirty. Have you checked the fuel pressure?
