possible antenna motor problem???
I have a 97 Eddie Bauer, run just okay lately. Newest problem is a ticking sound from under the glove box in a black encased unit...what I havve come to figure could possibly house the antenna motor. My antenna froze down a couple times this wonderful New England winter and has since been not completely going up or down. Is there a waay to get the black casing off this unit/area without destroying it and am I on the right track with this noise???? Has anyone else had any problems like this?

Hmmmm, I should have read the recent topics before I posted one of my own......
Mine did the same during the winter months, so I applied a shot of oil on the antennae, then wiped it down to clean the dirt off.
Worked pretty good after this, but recently the motor runs and the antennae stays in the upright position.

The above link is great info for antennae problems. But ... your symptoms describe a noise inside, under glove box, black box ? That's not the power antenna. Power antenna unit is under the fender ... accessable from the wheel well. Also, antenna noises are not usually continuous. They seem to make noise only when trying to go up or down.
