93 ranger 3.0L Surges 1000+rpm at idle until it is warm

Ok I tryed searching but can not find anything My 93 Ranger 3.0L Automatic Surges when the engine is cold really bad like 1000+ RPM but when it is warm it stops surging, When I leave it in the heated shop overnight it does not surge, Park it at work outside & it surges?????LIKE WTF ?????

mine idles high when it's cold and mines a 2002 ranger. it's normal.

When I start my 2.3L truck, it idles around ~1200 revs, then slows down to 900ish.

If the IAC valve works, this is what it helps with--warming up the engine quicker.
