ps. 4x4 did work before new hubs went in, just wanted the security of a solid hub

The only two things I can think of is you either assembled the hubs incorrectly (which is kinda hard to do - you don't have any extra parts left over right?), or you didn't adequately plug the vacuum system which could be preventing the Transfer case from locking in. Do all of your A/C-heater controls still function?

The T-case is electric and doesn't use vacuum. You did manually turn your new hubs to the lock position before you flipped the switch on the dash from 2wd to 4wd right?

Do this. Lift up the front end and verify that when you have the hubs set to the "lock" position that the axles are turning when you rotate the tires by hand. Conversely, when the hubs are in the "free" position the axle shafts should not turn. If this is all correct then your T-Case probably is not engaging. Does the 4x4 light come on on the dash? Can you hear the electric motor when you turn the switch from 4x2 to 4x2?

I recently installed Mile Markers on the rig in my sig, same as yours. No conversion kit is necessary.

Replacing Wheel hub and locking hub, what to use to cap off at wheel hub??

Got all my parts, and am ready to do it!
1999 Ford F250 SD 4x4 CC 150k mi.
Replacing front passanger side Wheel Hub and Locking hub( Mile Marker 449ss). The whole side was corroded, won't know how far it goes until I start tearing it apart. The driver side was fine(clean, not corroded).
My question, to all that changed from Auto to manual locking hubs is:
What did you use to cap the vacuum nipple at hub? Mine is corroded also. Did you just take the one out and use another type that is solid or something along that line? I understand how to cap the line side, from reading the forums here. Just not clear about that piece at the knuckle. Also is this something I can pickup at parts store or maybe ford Delio>?

I bought NPT brass plugs for mine at Advance Auto. A little WD-40 on the nipple; backed it out; a little teflon tape on the outer threads of the brass plug and snugged it up just pretty as you please.
You can by rubber caps for the nipple, but I prefer the relative worry free longevity offered by the plug.
If you need more info, feel free to PM me - I took pics & stuff, I just don't have them all loaded into an album yet.

I had the milemarker premium hubs on my Bronco and had lots of corrosion to the point that I couldn't turn the center dial without a pair of pliers. Make sure you lube them often. They worked great other than that.

Just bought a 99 F3fitty CC and can't say I've enjoyed this thread..haha
What a pain, but thanks to all making it easy for the rest of us to fix.

Flipping the switch won't lock the hubs, but turning the hubs manually works great. The vacuum pump runs non stop even back in 2x?
Funny thing is my hvac switches from defrost and back to vents no problem?

Got my fingers crossed that tomorrow when I cap/plug the line to the hubs that the pump stops running. Read in another thread that the lower red hose at the pump goes to the hubs, but it goes into the firewall on my truck and the black hose goes to the hubs? No biggie likely and will cap off the one going to the hubs.

The pump should cycle on and off as vacuum is used, right?

Big question is are there replacement seals that won't leak into the hub like the esop ones do? Part numbers by chance? These unit bearings are too dam expensive to risk contaminating!

Got two weeks to prep the truck, add lights, radios and set it up to chase the baja 1K to La Paz and dam sure want the 4x dependable!

Selling a nice 97 7.3 extra cab to buy this thing and sure hope the rest of this truck's systems work better than this, because my 97 seems a lot better built right now. Might not sell it for a bit, haha!

Thanks for the help and this thread!
