When do you start your seeds?

I put some in window boxes a week ago, figuring the last frost would see them safely beyond it. (INDOORS)

Have I jumped ahead, or am I just on time?

I love to grow peppers of various kinds.

In ten more days, I should see a LOT of Jalapeno sprouts busting up.

I also set in two black eyed peas...

Does anyone have advice on growing POTATOES?

I'm also going to plant a lot of Habernero peppers.

I love hot peppers, but don't have a lot of room...

(Half an acre, quarter usable)

Might be a little early around here. I think you can start potatoes around 4/1. I usually start my peppers inside in late march and put them out mid april. If i can keep the rabbits out of them they are ready in july.

I don't mind a few (dozen!) houseplants, if they are something I'm interested in. The seedlings I got two years ago at walmart had a hell of a time though...

Six or eight inch tall plants were getting shoved out of the ground by gophers, the johnson weeds were a nightmare, everything went wrong.

The hill on the side is now mowed back for at least one season, the weeds will have to try a lot harder to get there, and a lot of other things I didn't know then I'm going into this year armed with.

I ought to put in some catnip to attract a four legged anti-gopher army!!!

Next thing I'm looking for is more Tabasco and Habernero seed packets. I plan on having a fifty foot long patch of each of them. I hope they grow wild after a certain point.
