Back again for some help......
I have a few questions concerning my engine swap. I am swapping in a Mercruiser 302 with a M5OD transmission. Has anyone ever done this swap? How far back does the shifter sit? Will i have to notch my seat to use this set up? How hard is it to drill the holes in the frame for the engine mounts? How hard is it to make the transmission mount crossmember? Any useful advice on making this engine swap go faster and easier?
Thanks

I don't know much about this swap but it seems to me that there should be engine and transmission mount kits available for it or if not, some type of universal mounts. Check out Speedway Motors, Sacramento Ford, and other street rod parts manufacturers. There should be something out there to help you...

From my personnal experience, I gotta say that measurements are fine and all....BUT, the best method is to just use an engine hoist and mock-up where the engine and tranny should be in the engine bay. All I did was to make sure that the cab is on the frame, and go from there. I didn't use your combo, but the same method would apply.
