I finally got to do a highway run so I could give my results. I got an honest 13 by hand calculation and for the size and power of this truck, I am very pleased.
My 04 PSD was about 14.5 on the highway, my two 7.3 PSDs were about 16 so the V10 truly is a great gas motor for fuel economy . My truck has 6300 miles and is stock.

 

This is my 1st reply on here and my 1st V10 as of Wednesday. I got 12mpg on the interstate coming home with it. It's a 03 SC SB 4x4 45,000mls, white with silver bottom. This is the 3rd V10 in our family, my bro has a 03 just like mine butt it's a lariat and has 15000mls. He's getting 11.5 on his computor. Dads is a 01 crew long bed with a full Banks kit 78000mls and 200 dirt bike races, not sure on his milage, all are 4x4. My previous truck was a 97 150 SC SB 4.6 4x4 it was getting 16mpg. I had it for 7 years and was just tired of it. I'm very happy with my V10, I knew what it was going in and I'm loving it.

My average on the highway hoovers around 12-14 dpending on how fast I'm driving;
75-80 mph gives 12-13
65-70 mph gives 13-14

The best has been 15.6 over a 350 mile stint coming home from hunting, drove it like a old woman, averaged around 65-70, did very little passing, and had a 15mph corner tail wind (except the last 30 miles I had to drive cornering into it). My dad whom has a 460 in a dually was pretty impressed (he has a hard time breaking 10, withthe best days coming in at 11-12mpg).

 

'06 F250XLT SD CC V10, 6spd manual, 4.10 LS, 4X2, w/ 8' bed. No mods, and I don't plan on any either. It just doesn't need it!

Highway/City w/ only 900 miles on the odometer, I got 12.2 mpg hand calculated.

Fully loaded w/ split, seasoned, hardwood firewood. From Fredericksburg VA, I took 95N to 17N to 81N to 70N to PA TNPK to Jeannette PA. All highway, I got 12.8 mpg, hand calculated; very high winds the entire trip. I was traveling around 65 mph to 70mph most of the time.

On the way home, I went much further on less gas, but haven't filled up yet, so I can't crunch any numbers. I'll post 'em when I get 'em.

Keep in mind the motor isn't fully broken in yet, or is it? She's only got 1680 miles on her now. I consider these numbers (mpg) to be pretty good considering engine size, weight of the truck, and the frontal area of the truck. Good job Ford!

Oh, and by the way, with a full load of wood, she pulled the mountains like a freight train. When I wanted to pass, I passed. When I wanted to accelerate, she moved with authority, and very little peddle. The sounds this engine makes when working are music to my ears. Once again, a dynamite, truely dynamic, power train!!!

Before the lift, best mpg on the road was in the 14s and just got 14.2 on the road with 35s and 3.73s. Still lovin her. I know I could get 15 if I could drive slower but 14.2 at 75-80 is better than 15 at 65 in my book.

 

15 was the best I ever got before the lift, now with the 36 x 13.5 tires and recalibrated the speedometer, I can't get better than 12. But it looks COOL..

It may have something to do with this junk Jersey winter fuel also, I did notice it dropping off when winter came on (some time in the fall I think they make the switch???).

After 12,000 miles on the truck I thought the mileage should have started getting a bit better due to break-in, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

 

2005, 4/4, supercab, 410 rears, run mostly 75 85 on interstate 5000 miles getting 13 mpg

Always calc by hand since the XLT's don't all come with the auto calculator.
My average of 13 is based on mixed driving. I never drive a full tank or more on nothing buy highway unless I'm towing and that is a different poll. So it would be higher if I just set the cruise and drove for a few hundred miles.

 

I have a 2002 F350 4x4 cc Sc with 4.10 gears and 285 tires and get hand calculated 13-15 mpg depending on terrian. I have been maxed out on weight in truck and trailer over what ford says and got 14 doing 65 or 2000-2200 rpm. My truck has the 3.54L that many don't like but it works for me so far and that is all I ask. Around the city I get 12.5mpg and when on the interstate I have hit 15 with the truck loaded and the air on but not lately gas doesn't seem as good as it was a little while ago.
Just a side line I weight over 7000 when I am what I consider empty. I put the truck on the scales and with just me and the normal stuff I weight 7200 pounds so I think my mileage is ok for what I am moving down the road.
with all the changes coming next year in engines and vehicles I am just waiting to see what is available and I wanted a diesel until I noticed they aren't getting that much better mileage than I am and it costs them $6000 more to do it. Even at todays price of gas that is a lot of fuel.

 

I get about 13 mpg running with the cruise set around 78. This is on I-25 in Colorado heading to our cabin in Trinidad. A few nice hills but average elevation about 6,000 feet.

Tried driving at 65, couldn't stand it - thought I was standing still...

Exhaust mod made 1mpg difference, could just be the change in temps though.

Above MPG is for around 72MPH, I did a Corpus to San Antonio run at 85MPH and I got around 8MPG!

15 empty on the flat on cruise is the best.

6.4 in the hills pulling a fifth and a trailer behind that + 14,500 lbs. not too bad!
It is what I bought it for. playing and gas is included with all my play!
