Red face is there a way?

is there a certain sequence u have to unscrew the head boltss on a 5.4l ?

I would loosen them gradually in the same pattern you tighten them if it was me. That's what the Haynes manual states also.

I've never thought it mattered how you untighten head bolts, just tighting them. But you must replace thease head bolts with new ones. Their designed to stretch when you torque them down and therefore can't be reused.

btw After I torque them. I like to put the valve cover on with the old gasket and run the motor through a heat cycle and then recheck the torque.

I've found the #6 cylinder valve the smaller valve i think thats the exhaust it was bent just enough to keep it from sealing.. is there anything i can do to the heads to increase HP?
