Steering drift to the left

My 03 FX4 (12,000 mi) steering drifts ever so slightly to the left when I have a straight open road in front of me. I think it's been doing it since it was brand new. Nothing is wearing abnormally. I just thought vehicles were supposed to drift slightly to the right for safety purposes to avoid crashing into oncoming traffic if you fall asleep at the wheel. Anybody have any thoughts?

Pier9375...your problem could be a couple of things. None of them big though. tires are aligned on a vehicle to compensate for the small crown in the center of the road which is for drainage purposes. To fix it, you may just need to rotate your tires...if that doesn't fix the problem, you may need a front end alignment ($60.00).

Could be a radial pull on your tires too. Not very common but it does happen.
