Brake controller mounting location in 06' F150
I just took delivery of my new 06' long bed last Thursday and yesterday I was looking for spots to mount my brake controller. I have the 40-20-40 bench seat so there's no console to deal with and I was wondering if the small tray below my climate controls, and above the 4x4 shifter comes out so I can route the wires behind it. The tray is pretty much useless for most items, since things keep sliding out of it so I figured it would be a good place to mount the controller.
Does anyone know if this tray/pocket comes out? Where has everyone else mounted their brake controllers. I'm pretty sure I can angle mine to just about straight up and down if I want, but I'd rather not drill obvious holes in my instrument panel if I don't have to.
Thanks,
Alan

I mounted a Prodigy in my 04. There is a little plate screwed to the bottom of the dash beside the emergency brake release. It was there for no obvious reason. It looked like the perfect place for a controler as the wires easily reach it and you can drill 2 little holes in it to mount the controller in a couple of minutes and do no damage to anything. Took me about 5 minutes to do the whole installation and it has worked great and is not in the way.

Is my '05 f-150 prewired to accept a controller? (My truck did not come with the tow package.)
