New owner with old questions....
I have looked through the various search functions and still have not come up with the answer to my questions, only variables thereof. I just purchased an 05 F150 Screw with 5.4 engine 4wd & 3.73 gears and am planning on running synthetic in it. I realize that at only 400 miles I am aways from my first oil change but wanted to get suggestions as to what oil I should use and what weight?
I live in Illinois so we have winters that will be down to a low of 0 but usually in the teens to twenties. The summers will run in the upper 80's to 90's. So, we are not Texas but we are also not Montana. I am using this mainly as a commuter and towing a trailer only on occassion (16 foot tandem but only loaded with a 4 wheeler or similar weight) so not much weight at all and even then it's would only be about 50 miles round trip once a month. Suggestions?
Also, unless someone can direct me to a better alternative, I had planned on keeping my air filter stock. Should I change this out to K&N or? Thanks!
