Question Warm engine ,long cranking time to restart ?

Hard starting when engine is warm ? Ok when engine is cold...I'm talking in cranking seconds.Have to crank for about 6-8 seconds when warm before it will start ?? No codes, new plugs, air filter, oil& fuel filter changed !!!!

97 F150 5.4L, Automatic, 303,000 KM

Thanks Seppi

i had the same problem when i went from using ethanol 89 octane to regular 87 octane.. not sure why the truck took so long to crank, but as soon as i switched back to 89 octane ethanol it started up right away. hope this helps some

Check the fuel pressure when you go to start it up hot, to make sure it isn't a vapor lock problem.
