I'm in NE PA -- Montrose. When are we get enough snow for me to try out these tires????? Got my girl last April, haven't tried her in the snow yet (pulling the fallen tree out of the driveway doesn't count). I have 33.5 inch Dune Diggers, anyone know how they are in the snow? tread is SOLID, hardly any wear on 'em. Funner than hell in the loose gravel at my daughter's busstop...
Tommorow they are calling for 1-3" south of 80(woot) and then more snow wed-thurs. flurries mostly. The thing I noticed with my bronco is with the 12+" width tread doesn't bite as well in the snow as a narrow tire. The best truck I had for snow was a 79 150 w/I6. 31x10.5 BFG's AT's. That truck saw the floods of sept. '04 and a lot of snow in the 5 years I had it. Too bad the cancer took the truck away
That's what I was wondering -- these are for sand, mud and gravel, maybe I should look at a narrower tire for winter, which means new rims, too...hmm...Thanks for the info!!!
If your going to go that route, but want to keep the 33" profile, I would sudgest getting a 33x9.50x15 tire the KO series by (I think) BFG is reminesent of the old Jeep tires back in the day. Tall, narrow, and aggresive. Great for deep water/mud/snow, great all around "work" tire.
I'm somewhat familiar w/ some of these places -- many I have never heard of (bear w/ me -- I've only lived here since Oct 03...) Can anyone tell me how to apologize to my baby???? We have kick butt weather for my Millie, but I haven't been able to turn her loose to throw some snow... I broke my foot -- anyone want a DOG?????? -- and I can't pull myself up into her coz she's lifted too high to get in her w/ this busted foot. She's sitting there, covered in snow, and sulking...while I'm walking up the driveway on crutches, cussing Toyota, coz the van won't make it, and there's my 77 4WD, sitting in the snow, ITCHING to tackle the 1/4 mile sheet of ice that is our STEEP driveway (this is killing me!!!!)
