I'm back home, and after resting yesterday and this morning i jumped back on the truck. I took a bicycle air pump on the fpr valve, applied a little pressure and cranked. It will spin along firing but not start. I did it a few times it would'nt fire along every time but did too many times to be a coincidence. So what does that mean?

why would you induce air into the fuel system??
the schrader valve is for testing the pressure, not putting air into the system!!!!!
good luck man

No I have'nt taken it apart, except to put a bb inthere. I think i might take it apart for a look see. As far as putting air in there, well it's been full of air and i'm not sure why, but putting a little pressure did something. I even thought of running a fuel line straight to it but did'nt have any thing handy. And i'm still waiting on word of the spare parts from the wrecked truck.

fuel housing is not for air at all, do you have a lift pump issue??

edit: just wanted to let you know incase you dont our trucks fuel pumps are mechanical. so it wont fill unless motor is cranking.... fwiw
i would not recomend doing this as it will induce air into the fuel system.
i understand that you want to see fuel, but the air is a bad thing in a fuel line on a diesel.

I found some water in the fpr, i think that was the nail in the coffin, because the strainer had a lot of fine particles in it. I could kick myself for not doing this earlier, considering that in the last few months at lower rpms the truck would hesitate a little. Many thanks to all respondants. hope i can help you someday.
