Odd Swap

I have a '91 F 150, 4.9l six, 133k miles. Engine runs great, body / frame rotten to heck. I just acquired a '94 f150, 5.0v8, 150k miles, absolutely clean as a whistle, no rust, no rot, but engine is shot. Both trucks are automatic with electronic o/d, both are 4x2. I'd like to swap the straight 6 & tranny from the '91 into the '94. Any thoughts, ideas or advice? I've never done an engine swap before, and this seems to be feasible (feasible = cost effective and pratical in my case).
Any help is greatly aprreciated.

First thing to check is what tranny each has. If they both say 'E' on the driver's door post sticker, then the swap will be a piece of cake. Probably a weekend job.

The straight six has an "E" Code tranny, The 5.0l has a "U" code tranny. I was doing a little research, and after '92 the chassis wiring is a little different. I'm thinking about fabricating wiring harness adapters based on the wiring schematics, so i think i may leave a post in an electrical/wiring forum
Thanks for the help.
