Hub vacuum leak detection

The last company that I worked for used snoop (soap and water) to check for pressure leaks and would put cheap shaving cream (Barbesol ?) around connections to check for vacuum leaks. If the shaving cream disappeared then there was a leak present.

I guess that question is, would enough of the shaving cream enter the system to do any damage to the vacuum system on a Ford 350?

Thanks,

Anthony

Anthony,
Have you looked into the new smoke-check technology? Seems like this would be safer to the components than shaving cream.
