Red face 97 F-150 4.6.....guages acting strange

Please help.....When I started my truck this morning I noticed my Temp guage and my oil pressure guage both went all the way up and my battery guage and my fuel guage were on the bottom. I have a full tank of gas and have replaced my battery and Alt both in the last year or so. So i checked my battery terminals and they were all corroded.....clean them up and still same prob. But now those 4 guages jump around.....sometimes they are reading correct and sometimes they are all up or all down or 2 will be all up or vice versa. My Batt/Alt both test fine.......I have no clue. Anyone have an idea?? Thanks

just a question but when you cleaned the battery clamps and post did you remove the clamp from the post and clean the inside of the clamp and outside of the post? if not you need to, and also clean the areas with baking soda and warm water, or a can of coke. (will eat the corosion away) just to think we drink coke and it cleans corosion away from batteries. That may not have any variance on your problem but needs to be done then check the fuses for a hair line crack that causes the fuse to touch some times and sometimes not.

Have your electrical system checked at autozone. This usually happens when you battery is about to die.

Sounds more like a grounding issue.

It could be just a bad starter. It does happen. try taking it back and have them check it. try to get another one.
