No Spark and Electrical Route Questions

My freinds 1989 F150 5.0 is not getting any spark at the distributer, the plugs,or coil.

We put his coil on my truck and it cranked up so we know his coil is good.

Any test we can do on the distributer before we remove it??

We also checked the starter selinoid by putting it on my truck and my truck cranked fine.

Does the spark flow from the dist. to the coil or does the juice run thru the coil then to the dist.??

Any help would greatly be appreciated!!

The coil is triggered by the ignition module (TFI) on the side of the distributor. High voltage from then coil then goes thru the distributor cap and rotor to the spark plugs. If the low voltage wiring and connectors are all in good condition, I would check/replace the TFI. The TFI needs a very thin-walled socket to remove the mounting bolts. I ground the outside diameter of a 1/4" drive socket until it fit. ...Terry '90 F150, 302

Most parts stores can test the TFI for you. It is the most likely cause.
