I'm going to be taking a stab at growing tobacco
I'm not sure how much time is left in the season, so wish me luck.
First thing I need to do is till up the garden again and set up some kind of a weed barrier.

How long does it take to grow to maturity? I thought it was something like 60 days...

???? but i can find out. My buddy's grandpa does tobacco for a living, dark fired is all that is grown around here.
I know a good number of bac'r farmers around here.
I'll probally find out on monday

My great grandfather raised tobacco, the family helped with it, no pesticides, my grandmother recalls picking off the bugs, cutting and curing as a child.

I've never grown tobacco. Its a tough weed to grow from what I've heard. It takes lots of minerals from the soil too.
