Headlight clip release

I'm removing headlight assemblies on my '93 F350. They are held in a pair of clips at the top. Anyone know how to "release" the clips?

They have a flat horizontal tab on top, and wings on each side that have a hole in them. I've tried pinching, pushing, etc.

Snap ring pliers...............

with 90 degree ends should work. Use them in the holes of those "wings".

Not sure I like how Ford did that (very awkward to access) -- nonetheless you're right -- the wings get parted that way..!

All this is to replace highly yellowed lamp enclosure....seems to be a normal condition for older Ford trucks/cars. Even tho the old bulb was not broken, grabbing a new assembly on eBay for 20 bucks makes worlds of difference in light projection....to the point where someone could legitimately argue the aged ones were unsafe for use even with the bulb still working.

Now on to the other side.

once you do it the removal of the clips is easy. they are so hard to see, i went to the junkyard and practiced on a ford headlight.
