Tranny Shift Kits

I have a 97 4x4 4.6 w/ 182k miles and a remanufactured tranny.

I dont like the way the tranz. shifts smooth, the way when u accelerate from a stop it stays in first gear forever. Accelerating easy it takes first gear way to high and doesnt do anything but waste gas. When you step on the gas on the interstate it seems to take 7 seconds to get out of od and into the lowest gear.

Any one got a shift kit on their truck? Hows it solve those problems? Any improved gas mileage? Does it affect the warranty on tranny's?

A Diablo performance chip will change your shift logic, along with give you a bit more power.

Have you tried reseting the PCM? Unhook the battery for about 30 min and see if the shift pattern changes. The PCM controls the shift points. Mine shifts too soon for me. There is not a Predator adjustment for part throttle shift points at this time, only WOT. It will firm up the shifts at part throttle and WOT though
