I'm interested in the older lightnings from the early to mid 90s. I love the newer lightnings, but I can't afford one of those.
What I'm looking for is a sport truck, that I can drive daily, but can also do light duty hauling chores and go fast when needed
What kind of numbers do the older generation of lightnings produce? How do they respond to mods? Are they reliable? What options are available? What kind of mileage do they get? Are their certain things I should watch for when buying one? Are the engines TBI or MPI?
yes, I have a 94 . Under 70,000 miles it has multi port inj. Milage is 10-12 in town, 14-16 hwy. stock all the way no mods. done on it 351w 240hp stock but it is largely under rated more than likely 325 & then some. You can do some hauling with it Air bags on rear will help. Don

Reason: guideline violation
They built the first gen Lightnings from 93 to 95. The second gen Lightnings began in 99. The 2nd gen trucks are much better in every way. I've had a 93, a 99, and now an 03. The 1st gen L's are nothing to sneeze at though. I had a lot of fun with mine. 1st gen L's had a speed limiter though, and the 2nd gen's don't. 1st gen are very reliable, and run in the 15's in the 1/4 mile. Some claim 14's, but mine didn't, and top out at about 114. They respond very well to mods. Especially a supercharger. You have to remember that they're speed density, when it comes to mods.
